For the Future: Post Teaching Reflections
This lesson was the third lesson I both designed and taught. Maybe due to this and the learning from the previous lessons, I think it was the most successful lesson design in the "Inquiry and Problem Solving Science" course. The students were engaged, misconceptions were addressed, and I heard large amounts of learning happening in the wrap-up towards the end of the class. Things that I learned in the delivery and design of this lesson are: in middle school classes concepts are explored, re-explored, and re-visited in various ways. This lesson is an introduction to the ideas of cloud formation in relation to condensation, which the students are familiar with. It is key to remember that the lesson is an introduction, and that not all students will "get it" by the end of the class. The success is in the continuation of the learning, not necessarily what can be seen in one class period.
